PLYMOUTH AND DISTRICT TENNIS CONSTITUTION

1. COMPETITIONS
a)
P&D Tennis shall organise five events: a junior league, a senior league, a championship, a knockout cup and a presentation night. Each of the competitive events will have its own rules which are to be reviewed and published annually.
b)
There shall be an entry fee for all events except the knockout cup. These fees shall be set by the committee and presented at the AGM for the coming season. All fees must be paid in advance of the event at a time set out in the individual rules.
2. SPONSORSHIP
All events are sponsored by HEAD who provide subsidised HEAD Tour balls as well as access to other tennis related merchandise. This arrangement is on condition that they are sole ball suppliers and that the name HEAD precedes all event names.
3. MEMBERSHIP
a)
Membership of P&D Tennis shall be open to those clubs with venues registered with the LTA, to their respective county LTA’s and who are represented at the AGM.
b)
The facilities and location of new clubs applying to join must be inspected to the satisfaction of the Executive Committee before acceptance.
4. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
a)
The Executive Committee shall be comprised of the following officers, all elected annually at the AGM.
b)
President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, League Secretary and Junior League Secretary.
c)
When possible, there shall also be a Vice President, a Vice Chairman and a Press Secretary.
d)
Up to three additional members may be nominated at the AGM for election. The Executive Committee also has the power to co-opt up to three members at any time during the year, subject to a total membership of 12 which shall be the target membership.
e)
The League Secretary shall be responsible for arranging organisation of all events other than the Junior League, subject to approval at the AGM by the Executive Committee together with two delegates from each club in membership.
f)
The Junior League Secretary shall be responsible for arranging organisation of junior events, subject to approval at the AGM by the Executive Committee together with two delegates from each club in membership.
g)
The AGM may authorise an Honorarium to be paid to the League Secretary and Junior Secretary.
